FFR Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

The next scheduled MHFA training is August 21, 2015, at the CSN Sahara Campus. The class will run from 8a - 5p. 8 CEUs are available.


Mental Health First Aid teaches participants:

  • To identify signs of mental illness and addiction
  • Impact of mental and substance use disorders
  • 5-step action plan to assess a situation and help
  • Local resources and where to turn for help

Mental Health First Aid is suitable for parents and guardians, educators, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, social workers, HR professionals, faith leaders and more.
