Enriching & Welcoming Spaces

Recovery Community Centers

Unlike a treatment center, recovery centers are non-clinical community centers that act as a hub for events, support, trainings, workshops, and a safe haven open to the public.

What is a Recovery Community Center?

Foundation for Recovery, as Nevada’s statewide recovery community organization, has two recovery community centers serving as central hubs for all our work. Our Recovery Community Centers are an open place where individuals ranging from new to long-term recovery and their families can have access to resources, socialization, support, and skill-building. They provide a warm and inviting community setting for anyone seeking recovery services and afford a wide range of amenities like access to computers, life-skills classes, a place to relax, attend a meeting or social event, and where individuals can receive one-on-one peer support services. The purpose of our center is to offer an atmosphere of hope, wellness, and care for better living in recovery.

Each center has ties to a variety of community resources and organizations to assist program participants to rebuild their lives and self-esteem.

FFR offers space for 12-step programs, available 24/7, 365 days annually.  Through a partnership with the Clark County Parenting Project, parenting classes are offered weekly onsite in one of FFR’s training rooms. FFR also partners with UNLV’s TRIO program offeringHigh School Equivalence (HSE) pre-testing and tutoring, which is housed and utilized by our peers to not only obtain their HSE, but to also enroll in college and apply for grants such as the FAFSA. Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, SafeTALK, Suicide Prevention Training are also offered.

Peer Support Services

Anyone can walk-in to our recovery community centers and ask to see a peer specialist. Peer Recovery Support Services are non-clinical recovery coaching sessions where a trained recovery specialist will walk you through creating a recovery plan, help you find resources, and setup future sessions. There is no cost associated with our peer recovery support services and we often work with underinsured and noninsured people.
