Building Communities of Recovery
Partnering with rural agencies to expand peer recovery support and community-based recovery services.
About the program
Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) is a three-year project to collaborate with agencies and partners in rural Nevada to enhance community supports for substance use and mental health recovery.
The project provides dedicated peer recovery support specialists in select rural counties to work one-on-one with people in or seeking recovery. Our Peer Recovery Support Specialists also work directly with community members and agencies to provide mutual-aid meetings, train family support group facilitators, and host sober social activities and events.
Peer Recovery Support
Peer recovery support specialists walk side by side with individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. They help people to create their own recovery plans, and develop their own recovery pathways. Our trained Peer Recovery Support Specialists provide one-on-one support in-person and through tele-recovery. Agencies can partner through the BCOR program to provide peer support to the community.
All Recovery Meetings
The BCOR initiative works with people in recovery within communities to grow the number of available mutual aid supports and establish All Recovery Meetings. All Recovery Support Meetings are non-denominational and offer a place where people can share their addiction recovery experiences and how recovery has changed their life.
CRAFT Trainnig & Family Support
The Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) is an evidence-based 12 week program to help family members and others who have a loved one struggling with substances. We provide a 2-day training for those interested in facilitating the 12 week program in their community.
