Votes Needed to Support Recovery High School in Clark County

Pack the room on 05/25/17

As you all may have been aware, There is No Hero in Heroin has been working diligently with Clark County School District in the development of a Recovery High School. The school has been picked out, the renovation budget has been compiled and the staff has been briefed!

All that is left is for the trustees to vote! Now is the time to tell them you support this initiative! You will have a chance on 05/25/17 to make you voices heard! Show up early to pick up your TINHIH shirt to wear into the meeting hall.

The results are in, recovery schools save lives. This particular model has proven effective in other parts of the country and Las Vegas will be the first ALL public option for teens on recovery.

*If you’d care to address the board during the meeting, you may do so by signing up via phone call.

Person-Directed Recovery

Person-centered recovery is directed, as much as possible by the person – including decisions about who should be included in the process.  The planning identifies just a few small, but meaningful, short-term changes that the individual can focus on helping to reduce some of the barriers or challenges moving forward.  Person centered care should be central to all recovery frameworks.
